Raise your hand if your music teacher at school had you listen to “Peter and the Wolf”! π Did you know there’s a version with David Bowie narrating?! While exploring Russian classical composers for my current armchair travel, I came across this recording. And, of course, I had to add it to my eclectic vinyl collection. “Peter and the Wolf” is a 1936 symphonic fairytale for children written by Russian composer, pianist and conductor Sergei Prokofiev (1891 – 1953). David Bowie said in an interview that it was a Christmas present for his son Duncan, who was 7 years old at the time. π§πΉπβ£
Also pictured as the title photo: I’m recycling my travel planner pages for armchair traveling. π€£ It’s not only a journey through space but also time. So, I added some resources to better understand the era of the Russian Empire. I haven’t had much time to try the Russian recipes to be honest, but for the other items I’m on track. Anything you would add?β£ π¬ππ£
